Community Engagement: DC Spring Cleanup in Ward 1 on April 25, 2026
Responding to the annual spring cleanup call from Muriel Bowser, representatives of the Center for Global Civic and Political Strategies joined volunteers across Ward 1 to support neighborhood beautification efforts in Washington, D.C.
As part of the citywide initiative, the team participated in cleaning the perimeter and surrounding courts of Benjamin Banneker Academic High School. The effort contributed to the District’s broader spring cleanup campaign, which encourages residents, community groups, and local organizations to work together to improve public spaces, reduce litter, and strengthen community pride.
The initiative provided an opportunity for the organization to engage locally and contribute to community well-being alongside fellow volunteers dedicated to keeping Washington’s neighborhoods clean and welcoming.
